ODM’s Umulkher Harun Mohamed and UDA’s Falhada Iman turn the hallowed parliamentary lawns into a battleground.

As security personnel, including a bewildered Sergeant-at-Arms, tried to restore order as the scene played Shockingly, a few bystanders egged the duo on, perhaps enjoying the unexpected lunchtime entertainment a bit too much.
The fight, reportedly triggered by long-standing tensions between the two lawmakers, ended with torn egos, disheveled headscarves, and an avalanche of online outrage.
Hours later, Umulkher took to X (formerly Twitter) with an apology that struck a balance between remorse and subtle accusation.
“I deeply regret today’s unfortunate incident. As a mother and MP, this is not the image I wish to portray. I was ambushed. But I remain committed to dignity — especially as a Muslim woman and leader.”
Falhada Iman, meanwhile, maintained radio silence, fueling further speculation about the origins of the beef. Was it policy disagreements? Personal animosity? Or just one too many political jabs pushed too far?
The scuffle has left Parliament’s image taking yet another dent as the public on social media are wondering if this kind of drama “Is this what leadership looks like?”
