Isiolo Elders Demand Swift Justice After Shocking MCA Shooting

Tensions are rising in Isiolo after Burat Ward MCA Nicholas Lorot was shot near a local hotel last night by an unidentified attacker. In response, elders from various communities held an emergency peace meeting, urging authorities to act swiftly to prevent unrest and encourage calm.

Pastor Lokoro, who suspects the attack was premeditated, has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to fast-track their probe and provide clear answers to the public on the incident.

He said Delays in investigations often fuel speculation and unnecessary tension.

Abdulahi Gonjobe, the chairperson of the Isiolo Council of Elders, and Jeremiah Elupe, head of the Turkana Council of Elders, have both urged residents to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions, and wait for the security apparatus to offer answers.

Isiolo county being a cosmopolitan there are fears that the attack could inflame inter-community divisions, thus pressure is mounting on law enforcement to uncover the truth quickly to avoid speculations.

The MCA was shot yesterday night by a lone attacker who got away after the incident.
