Isiolo MCA Survives Shooting Incident Outside Hotel

Isiolo County Assembly Member for Burat Ward, Nicholas Lorot, narrowly escaped death after a gunman fired two shots at him outside Northern Galaxy Hotel in Isiolo town, injuring him on the shoulder and hands on Wednesday night.
According to reports, Lorot was seated inside his car when the assailant, dressed in a helmet and motorcycle gear, approached and opened fire before fleeing the scene undetected. Despite sustaining gunshot wounds to his shoulder and hand, the MCA managed to drive himself to the Isiolo Police Station to report the incident.
Isiolo Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Christopher Siele has dismissed early speculation that the attack was an assassination attempt. He urged the public to remain calm and allow authorities to conduct thorough investigations.
Police have yet to review CCTV footage from the hotel, which could provide crucial leads in identifying the suspect. At the time of the attack, Lorot was reportedly in the company of two individuals, including fellow MCA David Lemantile.
The injured MCA was later transferred to a private hospital in Meru town, where he is currently receiving treatment. Medical sources confirm that he is in stable condition. Meanwhile, security agencies have launched a manhunt for the gunman as investigations continue
